The Agile SME is responsible for supporting and training the customer in transitioning from a traditional waterfall project management methodology to an agile project management methodology, leveraging agile practices, Scrum Teams and DevOps. The Agile SME shall provide the services and support needed for a successful and seamless transition to include training and organizational change management.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform an analysis to determine the current Agile and DevSecOps readiness, current SDLC practices and project management methods to define a scope of transformation activities needed to become fully Agile.
  • Develop and implement an Agile transformation strategy and roadmap to transition from current state to desired state while ensuring synergy between Scrum and DevSecOps events.
  • Provide best practices for managing organizational change throughout the project, program, and portfolio levels of the organization and assist the ePMO in implementing the best practices.
  • Aid in identifying and implementing Agile tools, guidelines and metrics that promote sustainable Agile execution across the enterprise.
  • Lead the maturation of an Agile Center of Excellence and Agile Working Group to promote Agile practices
  • Recommend and execute a training program. The training program shall align with the needs identified in the agile readiness assessment.
  • Develop a training plan and training curriculum, including training schedule, for up to 20 on-site per class and virtual attendees. The training schedule shall include continuous learning (e.g. recurring classes).
  • Experience in conducting training sessions for small to medium audiences (5-25 attendees)
  • Provide on-site and virtual general Agile, SAFe, and Scrum training that provides an understanding of overall Agile practices and methods.
  • Provide recommended learning objectives for role-based training for managers, scrum/development teams, and the enterprise for review and approval by the client.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business or an IT-related field
  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) required
  • 8-10 years of experience working in a consulting environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience providing Agile/SAFe training in client environments
  • Experience configuring and using Azure DevOps
  • Experience with managing and establishing client relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of the organization
  • Experience with meeting/video conferencing tools (Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or workstation.
  • Prolonged use of a computer and keyboard, including typing and using a mouse.
  • Ability to handle light lifting (up to 20-30 lbs), including office supplies, files, or small equipment.
  • Frequent use of manual dexterity for tasks such as writing, filing, and operating office equipment (printers, scanners, etc.).
  • Ability to walk or stand occasionally to attend meetings, interact with colleagues, or move around the office.
  • Clear vision (with or without corrective lenses) for reading documents, viewing computer screens, and performing detailed tasks.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout a full workday.
  • Repetitive motions associated with tasks such as typing, using a mouse, and answering phones.
  • Ability to bend or stoop to retrieve files or office supplies from cabinets or storage areas.
  • Occasional standing, reaching, or walking to attend meetings or use office equipment in different areas of the office.
