At AZ Blue, we have a hybrid workforce strategy, called Workability, that offers flexibility with how and where employees work. Our positions are classified as hybrid, onsite or remote. While the majority of our employees are hybrid, the following classifications drive our current minimum onsite requirements:

  • Hybrid People Leaders: must reside in AZ, required to be onsite at least once per week

  • Hybrid Individual Contributors: must reside in AZ, unless otherwise cited within this posting, required to be onsite at least once per month

  • Onsite: daily onsite requirement based on the essential functions of the job

  • Remote: not held to onsite requirements, however, leadership can request presence onsite for business reasons including but not limited to staff meetings, one-on-ones, training, and team building

Please note that onsite requirements may change in the future, based on business need, and job responsibilities. Most employees should expect onsite requirements and at a minimum of once per month.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for leading, establishing and implementing strategic and tactical plans designed to capitalize on market opportunities, generate demand, and improve overall growth. They will work with the marketing team, segment leaders and agencies to execute marketing strategies including advertising, public relations, digital initiatives, direct marketing, internal and external communications, market research, competitive intelligence, audience segmentation, and message development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be versed in both B2B and B2C marketing strategies
  • Create marketing plans to include goals, messaging, target audience, strategy, tactics, timing, reporting and budget
  • Provide marketing strategic leadership and guidance to the marketing support team
  • Manage all marketing channels including advertising, collateral, direct marketing websites, and other channels to educate, sell and retain members, prospects, brokers and employers
  • Identify primary and secondary research needed to understand audience attitudes, behaviors, barriers and perceptions
  • Identify target audience profiles to reach optimal audiences for sales/marketing strategy
  • Develop value proposition, messaging matrix, creative briefs and other messaging to inform communications strategy
  • Help to set campaign KPIs and benchmarks, identify tracking requirements and report on performance as needed to meet established benchmarks
  • Support business segment in creating and executing marketing strategies and tactics. Analyze impact, report and make recommendations.
  • Define and measure success metrics for all marketing campaigns and monitor to further optimize.
  • Stay up to date on marketing trends including digital opportunities, events, technology, etc.
  • Participate in developing plans and executing deliverables addressing issues that could impact the segment business
  • Integrate and align brand/company strategy in all marketing efforts
  • Work on multiple, simultaneous programs/initiatives that require both strategic thinking as well as high-speed tactical execution.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and make sure all materials are on strategy and error free
  • Participate in annual budget-setting
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on marketing strategies
  • Hold cross functional teams to high standards and error free work.
  • Mentor employees to aid in their development and growth.
  • Help to onboard and train new department staff.
  • Lead and coach staff

  • Work a full-time schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
