Position Overview

The IT Program Manager will successfully deliver solutions to support the organization's vision and strategic direction. This role will manage and lead large, high risk, high visibility, and critical projects across the organization. These projects are often highly complex and impact many users. The IT Program Manager is a hands-on role that requires close collaboration with all levels of Exact Sciences to ensure successful integration and communication between multiple projects.

This position will be based in Madison, WI, with a hybrid schedule that includes three in-office days per week.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with business stakeholders to define strategy and requirements in order to define and execute a collection of high complexity projects across the business.

  • Oversight and leadership of multiple, complex technical initiatives running simultaneously to deliver a business strategy.

  • Lead the planning and delivery of a program that consists of related projects running concurrently that involve complex technical solutions and strategic business deliverables.

  • Manage resolution of issues and communicate and translate technical concepts.

  • Improve process and project management practices to advance best practices.

  • Develop schedules, budgets, risk management plans, quality goals, and lead the team to success.

  • Maintain detailed program metrics around initiative goals and communicate progress to key stakeholders.

  • Drive positive change management through planning, communication, and relationship management.

  • Make critical decisions based upon a combination of data analysis, experience, and judgement.

  • Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects to include coordination of cross-project activities.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

  • Provide indirect leadership to multiple project resources from various business functions.

  • Partner with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Listen, influence, negotiate, and mitigate conflict while building relationships and achieving desired results.

  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.

  • Apply advanced verbal and written communication skills.

  • Apply strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.

  • Ability to influence and recommend solutions across business and IT.

  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.

  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.

  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.

  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.

  • 8+ years of experience working in a project management capacity.

  • 2+ years of experience leading multi-project program delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional teams.

  • Advanced knowledge of project management concepts and skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.

  • PMI Project Management Certification.

Salary Range:

$109,000.00 - $174,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
