The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by a physician, in compliance with established clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines. The therapist operates a variety of specialized equipment to perform advanced procedures, including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Radiation Surgery (SRS), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Total Body Irradiation (TBI), Total Body Electron Therapy (TBE), High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy, and CT-based simulation planning. In addition to administering treatments, the Radiation Therapist ensures accurate patient positioning, verifies treatment plans, monitors patients for side effects, and maintains detailed treatment records. The role also involves providing clinical instruction, mentorship, and supervision to students undergoing training in radiation therapy techniques, fostering a learning environment that emphasizes patient safety and quality care.
