What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Customer Monitoring Center Technical Architect to join their IT Field Services team based in the US! You will have the opportunity to apply modern strategies and best practices to Global Signal and Monitoring environments, as well as develop, integrate and enhance tools and automation systems and services. You will work extensively with MS SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures and Microsoft products such as Power Bi and SSRS and support products such as fire and security signal processing technologies with a focus on the MASterMind Monitoring platform.

To be successful in this role you will need excellent communication skills to collaborate with life-safety suppliers and provide L4 support for global Monitoring Team applications and life-safety applications/services. You will also esign, develop and integrate systems to maximize uptime (>99.999%) for all life-safety applications. We prefer to have this individual based in Aurora, CO, or Kansas City, MO, but we are open to remote for the right individual.

How you will do it

  • Provide Level 4 technical support for monitoring functions and life-safety applications/services

  • Provide application and database assistance to technical teams and the business

  • Manage development, enhancement and integration projects

  • Develop deployment and automation methodologies and systems

  • Provide and develop architecture and documentation for application engineering projects

  • Partner with JCI InfoSec teams to design highly secure applications and environments

  • Partner with business on future business needs, strategy, planning

  • Design and document solution enhancement requests (liaison to supplier)

  • Contribute to development and execution of strategic plans as a highly skilled team member

What we look for

Required

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must permanently reside in the US

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field

  • 7+ years of experience with MS-SQL, stored procedures, T-SQL, SSRS, Power-BI, and relational database design

  • 7+ years of experience in the design, deployment and maintenance of complex application environments

  • Development skills (programming languages/frameworks, etc.) and also SQL programming

  • Understanding of virtualization, containers, and container management systems

  • Knowledge of IT systems and concepts (network, hosting, storage, scripting)

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements

  • Strong problem assessment and troubleshooting skills in SQL

  • Ability to accommodate global scheduling requirements (working off-hours occasionally)

Preferred

  • Certifications for relevant technologies (CCNA, MCSE, PMP, etc.)

  • Microsoft DBA skills

  • Experience with MASterMind

  • Security device industry experience

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - 145,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
