The Systems Engineering and Support Manager is a position that will coordinate and manage engineering personnel to design, verify, and support complex medical diagnostic equipment. The manager must have a strong leadership background with requirements and risk management experience and/or quality and compliance-based testing experience and/or product support experience.

This System Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing 3 employees in the System Engineering & Support group providing support of products that are primarily based at alternate company sites. The persons applying to this role should appreciate engaging across multiple departments, sites, and cultures.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collaborates with local and alternate site system engineering management to provide oversite and guidance for the extended team members.
  • Evaluates individuals of his team assuring the quality of the performance management process and develops them by suggesting adapted plans.
  • Contributes to the creation of procedures and/or the implementation of good scientific practices in accordance with department needs.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Promotes the growth of technical or business expertise of team members.
  • Assures that all relevant documentation is created.
  • Assures knowledge transfer to other function (in or outside R&D) in support of but not limited to complaint handling, training, and service documentation creation.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in an engineering or science discipline with at least 8 years' work experience in systems engineering
    • OR MS in an engineering or science discipline with 6 years in systems engineering
  • 3 years of management experience preferred
  • 3 years of engineering leadership experience preferred
  • 5 years of experience in a regulated industry; an ISO/ FDA regulated environment is preferred
  • Ability to lead and direct others in a technical environment, and collaboratively work with members across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong technical and procedural writing skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence in a matrix organization.
  • Strong planning and leadership skills, with proven ability to meet business objectives.
  • Strong business acumen in addition to project management and technical skills.

Travel Requirement - 10% both Domestic and International
