Your role on the team:



  • Proactively assess strategic and capability gaps / opportunities with customers and partner with packaging vendors and GEODIS sites to drive improvement.
  • Work closely with clients, business development, site operations, vendors, and design firms to develop and execute innovative and/or cost-effective packaging concepts.
  • Act as the SME to Customers, Business Development, Operations, and Procurement in technical packaging expertise.
  • Lead and manage special projects including a formal plan for standardizing packaging operational practices to drive more consistency and increased efficiency over the existing operations but also to prepare for new sites.
  • Responsible for leading, developing, planning, implementing, analyzing, and executing packaging design, sourcing, and purchasing initiatives.
  • Develop RFQs and analyses for supplier selection; lead supplier negotiations for PACS on requirements, commercial terms and conditions.
  • Build performance-based supplier relationships that lead to optimal pricing, quality improvements, process improvements and solutions delivery.
  • Develop reporting metrics and alignment with functional areas to ensure the cost savings and cost mitigation related to sourcing and supplier management activities; oversee the management of staff by reviewing, approving and allocating work and work assignments; mentor team members on developing performance metrics, accountability and career plans.
  • Ability to travel 50%.

What you need: (requirements)

Experience



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University within Packaging Engineering a strong preference.
  • Required 10+ knowledge of Package Engineering and/or Packaging Operations.
  • Required 8+ years in Packaging Leadership, preferably in Consumer Products.
  • Knowledge of packaging manufacturing, contract manufacturing production processes.
  • Technical competency and materials knowledge (corrugated, folding carton, rigid box, flexibles and print)
