Kilpatrick, a large international law firm, is seeking a Trusts & Estates Paralegal for our Corporate Department in our Chicago, Atlanta, Raleigh, Winston, Dallas, Houston, New York and Washington, DC office. Under the supervision of attorneys, the Trusts & Estates Paralegal will provide support for all types of corporate and commercial transactions. The paralegal will operate as part of a team of attorneys and support staff to provide a high level of service to both internal and external clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Responsible for the daily trust administration for a variety of clients (i.e. properly manage accounts, prepare letters, transfer forms, etc.)
  • Assist in drafting estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, and both basic and advanced trusts.
  • Help manage and organize estate and probate files.
  • Prepare accounting and financial statements.
  • Docketing court documents.
  • Filing and obtaining records with the courts and government offices.
  • Proofreading documents for spelling, grammatical, and/or formatting errors.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide updates or assist with accounting and tax needs.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Paralegal Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a professional environment which includes progressive responsibility in managing client trust accounts.
  • Law firm experience preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Lexis/Nexis, and other internet research tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Highly effective written and oral communications.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Work independently, taking initiative to move projects to conclusion.
  • Maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations.
  • Reliable and dependable team player.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.


This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The pay range for this position in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Houston only is $44.67 to $67.03 per hour; in Raleigh and Winston only is $42.41 to $63.64 per hour only; and in New York and Washington, DC is $53.69 to $80.56 per hour only.
