Description

Summary: Drives company vehicle, makes pickups and deliveries,receives, checks in, stores, and distributes materials, tools, supplies, equipment, and products by performing the following duties:

Note: Effective 1 December 2024, Driver residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of $15 per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Some locations include a commercial vehicle, while other shoreplants will operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) up to and over 26,000 lbs.
  • Prepares receipts for load pickups.
  • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations, if required.
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck/commercial vehicle if needed.
  • Verifies loads for accuracy and delivers them as requested.
  • Inspects vehicle prior to departure and on return to ensure vehicle maintenance continuity.
  • Ensures equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water are maintained.
  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit if necessary.
  • Depending on the shoreplant, may require employee to safely remove dunnage if necessary.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must be willing to train in all applicable company and/or regulatory training programs as needed to perform the functions of this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certification, or able to become forklift certified at some shore plants.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects:

  • regularly up to 10 pounds
  • frequently up to 25 pounds
  • occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving

mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/orhumid or cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles;toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must be available for flexible part-time hours, including evenings and weekends.
