Description

The Mortgage Loan Processor performs a variety of duties both clerical and technical; major responsibilities include coordinating the processing of mortgage loans following application, through preparation of loan documents for closing. Additional duties:



  • Orders and reviews all documentation, i.e., verification of income, verification of employment, credit report, appraisal, survey, title commitment, etc.
  • Contacts borrower and other sources to collect necessary documentation
  • Acts as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, outside escrow, title company, and customers
  • Checks information submitted by loan applicants for accuracy and adherence to established underwriting criteria and regulations
  • Works with the processing team to ensure files are moving through the system
  • Checks loan file to ensure that it contains all necessary documents, signatures, dates and other important information
  • Builds and maintains relationships with clients to ensure a constant pipeline of mortgage files


Qualifications:



  • High School or GED
  • 7+ years mortgage loan experience, including loan processing experience


Skills:



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to do simple math and carry out written instructions
  • Working conditions are generally favorable; lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc
  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs.
