Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Blackjack project by reading plans, anticipating the required needs, applying accurate markings on parking lots, roads, and other paved surfaces and seeing a job to its completion.



Responsibilities

    Analyzes plans, maps, specifications, and other documentation to assist in the preparation of having the correct materials, equipment, and other necessary items to successfully execute the project.
  • Apply appropriate pavement markings accurately using striping machines.
  • Prepares surfaces for work being completed that day. Including sweeping, cleaning, pressure washing, and other various tasks.
  • Daily inspection of all equipment and provide or coordinate preventative or any required maintenance.
  • Operate equipment such as walk behind stripers, stencils, and various other items as needed.
  • Ensure proper materials, paint usage, line spacing, and overall quality of markings.
  • Clean equipment as needed.
  • Proactive and timely communication with sales, scheduling, management, and fellow crew members to execute projects successfully.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in parking lot striping or striping role.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Be able to work overtime when required.
  • Must have a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Communication skills, ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of road construction methods, road construction materials, and industry requirements.
  • Knowledge of necessary equipment.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
  • Use of companies scheduling and time tracking system.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Interpersonal skills, time management, thoroughness, confidence, communication skills, organizational skills, problem solver, and supervisory skills are required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks at a worksite or moving from one worksite to another
  • Occasionally move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Occasionally adjusting, moving, and lifting objects in all directions
  • Constantly talking and hearing to communicate with others
  • Constantly seeing to perform job duties at close range, such as monitors or screens
  • Occasionally seeing to perform job duties at a distance, such as operating office equipment
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Rarely ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
  • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools
  • Constantly operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
  • Occasionally the ability to travel regionally or nationally

  • Occasionally in sedentary work that primarily involves sitting and standing
  • Occasionally light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more

  • Rarely in low temperatures

  • Occasionally in outdoor elements such as precipitation, wind, and dust
