Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking a Manager for the Assessment & Referral Department. The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems. The Assessment & Referral Manager is accountable for daily management of the department. As a working Manager, this position provides supervision to Clinicians and RNs in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, administration, unit staff, external case managers/managed care organizations and functions as a liaison with-in the hospital to all other departments, and other hospital intake departments. In addition to daily administrative tasks the Manager must cover a clinicians' role in the event of staffing shortfall or patient need. The Manager will lead the department in a manner that ensures effective, accountable, and responsive staff in the department and promote an environment and culture of empowering and inspiring the employees she/he is charged with leading. Qualifications Education: Master's Degree from an accredited program in nursing, social work, mental health or related field preferred. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations. Licensure: preferred; R.N., L.C.S.W., LMFT or Master's level and/ or license eligible. Additional Requirements: Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and CPR with-in 30 days of employment. Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, EMTALA, and HIPPA laws. |
