Job Description

The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri seeks Medical Scribes.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Assist in facilitating patient flow and ensure accurate, thorough medical records for each patient.
* Accompany the physician into patient examination rooms to transcribe the patient's history and physical exam and document the physician's interactions with the patient and others present.
* Accurately record diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed by the physician.
* Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology exams, and medications.
* Document provider-patient encounters in real-time, including any procedures performed by the physician.

Shift

Shift Type: Must be available 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday.
(Clinical) Office/Administrative Hours: No - Position will not have Office/Admin Hours
Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: No

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge or abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Six (6) months experience as a Medical Scribe or 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $14-$18/hour
Grade: PAT-3A
