JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible foroperatingone or more Computer Numeric Control (CNC)machinesin the production of high-precision small parts and cuttinginstruments. Included in this role isthe setting up the machines,the creation ofpart profilesand shapes,the placement of specific features, and thecuttingorsharpening of instrumentteethmeeting final specifications. This position may includeworking mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends according to business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Readsprintsand job ordersfordeterminingproduct specifications such as dimensions, tolerances,and number of parts to be machined, and tooling instructions such as grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures,and grinding wheels to be used

* Operatesprecision CNCmachines tocreate products meeting requireddimensions

* Inspects and measuresparts created to ensure specifications are achieved

* Maintains job routing information and completes sign-offs as required

* Performsotherrelated production tasks during availabletime

* Performs routine maintenance, lubrication and replacement of worn parts on machinesin coordination with maintenance personnel

* Informsthe subsequent shiftoperatorof theproduction status ofthecurrentshift

* Keeps work area clean and free of oil and other residue

* Othertasks as assigned bytheManager

WORK EXPERIENCE:

* One year ofrelated experience and/or training,or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

EDUCATION:

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* Certificate from college or technical schoolspecific to CNC Machine Operationa plus

* Experience with Amada Laser a plus

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS &COMPETENCIES:

* Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions

* Intermediatemechanical skills required

* Intermediatemath and logic skillsrequired

* Intermediatecomputer skills and software useexperiencerequired

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Travel - typically not required

* Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger,andoperate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretchand lift up to20pounds

* Position requires that the employee use eye protection at all times while working
