Diet and Nutrition Laboratory Clinical Research Coordinator (Staff Wage)

The Diet and Nutrition Laboratory Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with the Department of Kinesiology, University of Virginia's Student Health and Wellness Center, and collaborators in the School of Education and Human Development and the School of Medicine, research staff, and students. The successful candidate will also work closely with the VA Department of Education School Nutrition Services staff and administrators. The successful candidate will assist with the administration of clinical research studies, data collection, and data management. The Clinical Research Coordinator will assist with project organization, coordination, document preparation, record keeping, and clinicaltrials.gov and IRB approval and maintenance.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Work with researchers to implement project protocols
• Administer clinical research studies
• Assist with project organization and coordination
• Assist with participant recruitment
• Assist with data collection and data entry
• Assist document preparation
• Assist with record keeping
• Assist with student and staff training

This position is anticipated to last 1 year with the possibility of extension dependent on funding and performance.

Anticipated Compensation:$25/hour

Anticipated number of work hours: 20 hours per week.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications.
• Experience: None. Some experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Licensure: None.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with human clinical trials
• Experience working with children and adult patients/research participants
• Experience working within IRB approval and maintenance processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
