Job Title: Azure data engineer (REMOTE)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data engineer with 10 to 14 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Databricks SQL Databricks Workflows and PySpark. Experience in the Provider and Payer domains is a plus. This hybrid role requires proficiency in English for reading writing and speaking. The position operates during the day shift and does not require travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architectures using Databricks SQL and Databricks Workflows.
• Develop and optimize PySpark applications for data processing and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through robust data validation and cleansing processes.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architectures and workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members on Databricks and PySpark best practices.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines and workflows.
• Implement data security and compliance measures to protect sensitive information.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in data technologies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data processes and methodologies.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Drive innovation by exploring new tools and techniques to enhance data processing capabilities

Qualifications

• Possess strong expertise in Databricks SQL and Databricks Workflows.
• Demonstrate proficiency in developing and optimizing PySpark applications.
• Have experience in the Provider and Payer domains (nice to have).
• Exhibit excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Show strong communication skills in English for reading writing and speaking.
• Display the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Certifications Required

Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark Databricks Certified Professional Data Engineer

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until May/3/2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
