Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a Viral Pathogenesis Technician Support - IVto support the members at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award. Incumbents are encouraged to apply! The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at:$75,000 - $84,000. The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn. Responsibilities:
- Will support 2-3 Non-human Primate studies and/or swine studies. Will prepare study materials as needed based on study plan, prepare virus, perform and document observations of animals, and assist with collection and processing of collected samples. Will perform Complete Blood Count (CBC), general chemistries, coagulations assays and other clinical laboratory-based assays on samples from animals, as needed.
- Will support 15-20 rodent studies per year. Will perform inoculations with test article or virus, will perform and document observations, collect tissues for processing and conduct bleedings.
- Will perform in vitro testing of candidate vaccines and therapeutic compounds against a variety of viruses. May use 200-300 plates/assays per month.
- Will prepare all necessary study materials for assigned experiments to include but not limited to preparing cell culture media, labeling tubes, and preparing paperwork.
- Will perform immunological procedures including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Western Blot assays. May perform 200 assays/month.
- Will perform basic cell culture, plaque assays (PA), plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT), PCR, and other assays to support 2-3 NHP and/or swine studies and 15-20 rodent studies. Workload is approximately 750 plates/assays per month.
- May serve as a BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 mentor
- Will be responsible for assessing and maintaining laboratory supplies in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 laboratories. Will assess supplies and ensure supplies are ordered or will order supplies using GFEBs ordering system. Anticipated workload is 10-20 orders/month.
- Will assist with annual conduct of Equipment Inventory Management in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL- 4.
- Will perform general laboratory maintenance duties, including but not limited to cleaning, preparation for inspections, and containment space monthly duties as assigned by the suite supervisor. Prepare and participate in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 laboratory inspections conducted by Safety, Bio-surety, CDC, and/or the Department of Army Inspector General at a minimum of 2 times a year.
- Will provide TPOC a employee Research Technical Report NLT the last day of each week.
- CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required in support of approved studies and/or presentation of scientific research
- CS-PRP enrollment is required and will be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
- BPRP enrollment is required and will be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
