Summary
IT Designer II / Designer, Senior | IT Communication Infrastructure Engineering What your day would be like:
You'll be hands-on in designing and enhancing critical IT and OT infrastructure that supports field operations across the organization. Each day, you'll develop new system components, improve existing designs, and collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient communication networks and technologies. You are responsible for:
- Designing new components or portions of IT and OT systems based on project requirements.
- Modifying and improving existing designs to enhance system performance and support evolving operational needs.
- Collaborating with field service and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and field-ready.
- Supporting documentation, drawings, and specifications needed for construction and field deployment.
- Identifying opportunities to innovate and streamline communication infrastructure designs.

Minimum Requirements

- Associates Degree and/or Technical Degree
- ANDtwo (2) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
- Requires basic knowledge of related IT systems and procedures

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCad computer-aided design software and Meridian Document Repository
- Able to explain complex technical processes in simple language for general company staff and to less experienced peers.

- Understanding of Drafting Principles:Strong understanding of drafting principles, standards, and symbols.

- Basic Knowledge of Construction Processes:Understanding of construction processes and materials.
- Industry-Specific Experience:Experience in a relevant industry (e.g., architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering) may be preferred.
Major Accountabilities
1) Develops design drawings according to engineering sketches and proposal specifications.
2) Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools, such as CAD, CAM, CATIA, ProEngineer, Solidworx or Siemens NX Software.
3) Gathers information, conducts standard studies and computer calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
4) Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications
- Collaborating with Design Team:
Work closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to understand project requirements and specifications.
Interpreting Project Documents: Understand and interpret architectural drawings, engineering specifications, and other project documents.
Modifying and Updating Drawings: Make necessary changes to existing drawings based on feedback, revisions, and new information.
Ensuring Accuracy and Precision: Maintain a high level of accuracy and detail in all drawings, ensuring they meet industry standards and project requirements.
Organizing and Managing Files: Organize and manage drawing files, ensuring they are properly stored and accessible.
Participating in Project Meetings: Attend project meetings to discuss design progress, provide input, and address any issues that may arise.
