Responsibilities:
Work from maintenance work orders and instructions, hydraulic and lubrication drawings and diagrams and sketches, machine manuals, and plant layout information to plan and work out details in proper sequence and determine tool and material requirements. Must exercise considerable judgment to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general guidelines are available. Diagnose and repair machine and equipment problems, tear down and replace defective parts and mechanisms. Partially rebuild machine tools, tear down unit, check and inspect component parts, scrape ways, level and align, reassemble and test. Make broad decisions involving considerable initiative and ingenuity. Perform plumbing and pipefitting to maintain distribution and circulation systems, and repair toilets, pumps, valves, leaks and drainage systems. Perform millwright operations connected with the installation of machines and equipment. Install and wire 3-phase and 1-phase power systems for machines, building and grounds. Trouble-shoot relay logic and motor control circuits. Interpret diagrams. Use electrical test equipment like analog and digital meters, AMP clamps and others to find and repair trouble. Perform all duties with a minimum amount of interference with the production process. Detect and report unusual maintenance situations and/or needs. Monitor quality of own work and report to the supervisor defective materials, unusual conditions and operating difficulties. Keep required time and/or other work records. Follow and adhere to prescribed safety regulations and procedures. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Follows company Quality and Environmental Management policies and procedures. Perform other related tasks as required. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required 5+ years of experience in similar capacity preferred Knowledge of mechanical operation and test procedures required Considerable judgment required to troubleshoot complicated problems. Must be able to perceive and plan a complex course of action. Analytical skills Attention to detail Constant alertness required Visual Acuity Must continually focus mental and visual attention closely during assembly or test procedures. Must have good communication skills Physical stamina and strength Teamwork and communication skills Some lifting of various weights, both assisted and unassisted Drive and Operate Forklift, may be required Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills Shop environment, exposed to routine shop elements Exposed to routine shop elements Noise, oils, greases, solvents, chemicals, and mechanical equipment Electricity Walking, standing, lifting, stooping, reaching Elevated heights Use cranes or other device for heavy lifting Responsible for the safety and clean-up of own area Must be authorized to work in the US |
