SW ENGINEER - BUSINESS SOLUTIONS & DEVSECOPS

Job Summary

VSolvit is seeking a Software Engineer with an understanding of Business Solutions and DevSecOps to join our team Naval Air Station (NAS) Point Mugu in Southern California.

The successful candidate will work in this beautiful coastal location between Malibu and Santa Barbara at the Naval Base Ventura County, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. Candidate initiative is desired in someone who is an effective communicator and can learn new business tools/processes quickly and intuitively. Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) used by NAWCWD to integrate security into every stage of the software development lifecycle, and it shifts the focus from viewing security as a separate process to embedding it within the development process, fostering collaboration between developers, security specialists, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Business Solution Development:
  1. Design, develop, and deploy custom applications and workflows using Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents)
  2. Develop solutions utilizing the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint Online, Teams, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Graph API
  3. Build and maintain integrations between Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and other third-party applications using APIs and industry-standard integration methods
  4. Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards
     
     
• DevSecOps Implementation:
  1. Integrate security principles and best practices throughout the entire software development lifecycle
  2. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment of solutions
  3. Work with security tools and technologies to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in code and infrastructure
  4. Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures
     
     
• Collaboration and Communication:
  1. Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, project managers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  2. Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
  3. Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in the Microsoft cloud ecosystem and DevSecOps

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics
• 3+ years of experience in SW design and development
• Secret clearance
• Ability to work with multiple business solution systems and system architectures
• Experience with Agile/SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and DevSecOps
• Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, project managers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics
• 5+ years of experience in SW design and development
• Top Secret clearance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• MBSE (model Based Systems Engineering) methodologies
