Operations Lead

The Operations Lead will oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance with food safety standards, and a productive team environment. This individual will need to be flexible and adaptable, understanding that as a start-up, JECA is constantly evolving. Policies, procedures, and priorities will be implemented and will change as we grow. We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is excited to help shape our operations.

Production Support:

* Step into production when necessary to fill gaps or assist the team.

* Gain a strong understanding of all processes to effectively advise and lead others.

Food Safety & Compliance:

* Maintain and uphold strict adherence to SQF, HACCP, FDA, and other food safety and manufacturing certifications or protocols.

* Ensure accurate record-keeping (both handwritten and electronic) to support compliance efforts, with a goal to achieve intermediate SQF certification by 2025.

* Leverage knowledge of HACCP or similar systems to implement and monitor critical control points for food safety.

Team Leadership:

* Oversee and manage a team of three employees, including scheduling and planning work based on attendance.

* Provide support and counseling as needed, escalating issues to upper management

when appropriate.

Inventory Management:

* Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure consistent stock

* Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of inventory and manage any issues related to stock shortages or overages.

* Analyze inventory data to forecast future inventory needs and adjust ordering practices accordingly.

* Create schedule for efficient daily/weekly order fulfillment

Reporting & Communication:

* Create and present reports to upper management as required.

* Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, upper management, and stakeholders.

Adaptability & Growth:

* Work collaboratively to implement processes, create structure, and adjust strategies in a constantly changing start-up environment.

* Experience with Excel skills (e.g., formulas, data manipulation).

* Strong understanding of SQF, HACCP, FDA regulations, and other food safety protocols.

* Experience implementing and maintaining HACCP plans or similar food manufacturing

systems.

* Previous or current food manufacturing leadership experience is required.

* Adaptable and willing to take a hands-on approach as needed.

* Lean Manufacturing training is preferred.

* College degree is nice to have but not required.

Target salary $ 65-75k

* 3 years experience in food production operational role
