SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant provides assistance in the examination and treatment of patients, under Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner supervision, in the ambulatory service clinical setting. Duties include: chart review before patient clinical visit; assisting physician with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients in preparation for examination/procedure; performs venipuncture; specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation; order and inventory supplies; records and documents in medical record; maintains examination/procedure room supplies; assists with efficient patient flow; assists with orientation of new staff; and participates in quality assurance programs.

LOCATION: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

HOURS: Days, 40 hours.

JOB REQUIREMENTS




  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant training program with less than 6 months experience.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant by an approved national examination agency required (RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA)
  • Valid BLS CPR certification require upon hire (AHA, Red Cross, and military training network)



Salary Range: Minimum 18.15/hour - Maximum 26.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
