Job Description Summary: Design and development of OPH's data platform. Collaborate with other technology teams to extract, transform and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies. Evaluate innovative technologies and tools while establishing standard design patterns and best practices for the team. Perform data analysis and onboarding activities as new data sources are added to the platform. Agile development methodologies. Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability. Establish long term and evolving bug fixing solutions and improving application performance. Understand API's and backend systems and plan integration points as required. Design, code and test features in the backend system and work jointly with other team members to deliver more complex changes. Reports to company headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI. Roving employee - will work at various unknown client sites throughout the U.S. for up to 100% of the time. Must be willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. and may be assigned to work at client sites across the U.S. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, IT/IS, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronics or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, IT/IS, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronics or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained, the employer will also accept a Master's degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, IT/IS, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronics or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must have demonstrated experience with: Data migration and data processing solutions using AWS services such as Athena, Glue, DataBrew, Lambda, S3, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR or Amazon Redshift; creating event-driven architectures or building back-end systems in Python, JSON, REST, microservices, Lambda, DynamoDB or NoSQL; programming languages (Java, Scala or Python Solid); software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing and operations; Agile, scrum or DevOps; modern software delivery methods (TDD, BDD, continuous integration [CI] or CD); and development lifecycle (development, testing, documentation and versioning) on an AWS platform. Salary offered for the position is: $166,400.00 - $171,400.00/year. Primary Work Location: 900 N Squirrel Rd, Suite 300, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Reports to company headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI.
