Acara Solutions has an exciting temp remote opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist with our client in Houston. This role would be a 3-6 month contract with a flexible pay rate, DOE. This will be 40 hours per week, and the candidate must be located in the US, with previous AP experience. Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing incoming invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, reconciling statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role plays a key part in the company's accounting operations by ensuring expenses are recorded and paid correctly.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, review, and verify invoices and payment requests
  • Ensure proper invoice authorization
  • Enter and process invoices in the payment system
  • Schedule and prepare payments (check, ACH, or wire transfers)
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records
  • Assist with month-end closing and reporting tasks
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Comply with internal controls and accounting policies
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Bill.com, Citibank, JP Morgan Concur, Acumatica)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
