Job Description:



  • A Building Automation Engineer, also known as, HVAC Controls Tech, Project Engineer, or Controls Engineer, works directly on the Maintenance team on proper function of complex building automation systems, and a major role in executing Work Orders and preventive Maintenance tasks, ordering of components, and jobsite coordination with technicians and sub-contractors
  • Leads, directs, and teaches BAS system operators with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advise others on how to resolve problems
  • Diagnose and repair routine electronic control system malfunctions.
  • Manage assigned work to meet professional execution, time, and customer satisfaction standards.
  • Report problems or changes to management immediately.
  • Troubleshoot software coding and make any necessary enhancements to ensure reliable and smooth operations of equipment and systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines and systems.
  • Calibrates machine controls for optimal performance and safety
  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
  • Prepares reports documenting work performed (PMs, WOs, etc).
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Collaborates with project manager regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing to work 3rd shift.


Compensation: $46.97/hr.

Requirements:



  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) and user PC/software skill.
  • Familiarity with Johnson Controls Metasys and or Schneider Electric Controls or equivalent platforms and understanding of control programming and graphics for control systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various communications protocols used in the industry including BACnet and Modbus.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems, HVAC systems, and temperature controls, and related/integrated systems.
  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, lift equipment, and roofs in heat/cold/day/night conditions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
