RSM is seeking a Senior Associate for Deal Analytics team within our Transaction Advisory Services group to assist in developing and executing our business analytics offerings to our middle-market clients. We work with corporate and private equity clients on complex investment decisions that involve strong analysis, extensive data modeling, and advanced data analytics. Our Deal Analytics team delivers sector-focused analytics that is targeted to challenge investment hypothesis, answer key deal questions on buy-sides and substantiate equity story on sell-sides.

You will leverage your strong data and business analytics skills to enable our clients to execute their transactions while maximizing the deal value; this will ensure effective financial and operational decisions in a dynamic data-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and study the business for a given project, critically dissect the business drivers

  • Gather data, understand client's key deal questions and issues, and formulate pragmatic solutions to answer those questions and address deal issues

  • Participate in client meetings (and potentially site visits) while interacting with top-level management to obtain pertinent information for business analytics

  • Prepare insightful analytics of financial and operating metrics to help clients evaluate their investment decisions and financing requirements

  • Manage timing expectations ensuring key stakeholders are informed of progress and expected results

  • Demonstrate strong quality execution and delivery

General requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in the field of accounting, business administration, economics, operations, mathematics, computer science, and/or information systems from an accredited university

  • 3+ years experience working within a large public accounting or consulting firm

  • Possesses a balance of strong financial and business acumen and ability to explain technical data concepts and analytical techniques in the language of business (including communication of concepts used and challenges encountered)

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and execute tasks while under pressure

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to apply theoretical concepts and best practices to solve business problems

  • Ability to work successfully and effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, as well as independently

  • A self-starter who is confident when interacting with clients, internal team members and firm leadership

  • Consistently meets internal and client deadlines

  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight (up to 30%)

Technical data abilities

  • Advanced MS Excel (including Power Pivot)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on live deals is strongly preferred

  • Experience in advising clients from different industry verticals such as Consumer, Industrials, Business & Professional services, or TMT

  • Experience in constructing and managing dimensional data models

  • Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Power BI and/or Alteryx or MS SQL is preferred

  • Exposure to Azure cloud environment is preferred

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $85,100 - $161,700

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
