Position Summary

The Education Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of the out-of-school time curricula. They will provide facilitators with continuous support and guidance, addressing any challenges that arise and offering strategies to enhance the learning experience. By maintaining regular communication and providing resources, the Education Specialist will help facilitators deliver high-quality educational programs that meet the diverse needs of students.


Essential Duties



  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Facilitate regular curriculum meetings with academic specialists/facilitators, who model best practices and allow group members to reflect on their experience and problem-solve.
  • Conduct regular observations of Facilitators at work in their classrooms and provide feedback to improve and strengthen instruction.
  • Review young people's work on an ongoing basis to assess the engagement level and determine learning needs.
  • Act as a liaison between regular school day, out-of-school time programs, and teachers to ensure program quality.
  • Communicate regularly with the Program Director regarding curricula implementation issues, particularly concerning group leaders' materials/supplies needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications



  • 3-5 years of experience providing direct instruction to young people.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or a related subject area.

  • Experience in instructing lesson plans within traditional school settings or out-of-school time programs.
