The Center for Cognitive & Behavioral Therapy, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking an Associate Clinical Director to join our team in Columbus, OH. As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care team, you'll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.
As an Associate Clinical Director, you will directly manage clinicians, including clinical oversight, talent development and clinical performance. This includes onboarding new clinicians, creating a collaborative culture across all teams, monitoring the center's performance and building strong partnerships across other departments to ensure we are providing the best care for those we serve.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Directly manage a team of clinicians and ensure clinicians are prepared and supported to provide care to those we serve.
- Provide clinician development with clinical oversight, professional development, training, and address performance management needs with timely feedback.
- Set and communicate clear expectations for clinical quality, evidence-based treatment, documentation, and HIPAA compliance.
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly metrics are met; facilitate remediation plans if targets are missed in partnership with Executive Director
- Promote a clinical quality and safety culture, adherence to OBC and Optum policies, utilizing evidence-based protocols and industry best practices
- Manage complaints and feedback; address internal and external patient complaints, providing feedback to involved individuals.
- Participate in the onboarding of new clinicians to the practice.
- Foster a collaborative culture and team camaraderie with regular team meetings and consistent team check-ins
- Champion change across the team with consistent communication, encourage feedback, celebrate success and address resistance
- Provide support and consultation with ongoing clinical case consultation, assist clinicians in meeting productivity goals, and provide technological training and troubleshooting.
- Actively participate in Optum Behavioral Care (OBC) leader and team meetings; cascade communication to ensure team is informed of key initiatives or changes
- Carry a clinical case load of at least 10-50% in alignment with compensation arrangement
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related counseling field
- Active, unrestricted, independent clinical license in state of practice: LISW, IMFT or LPCC
- 1+ years of experience leading, managing, and driving change in a highly regulated environment
- Experience managing teams, and prioritizing many competing priorities to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and appropriate team focus
- Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS or other Electronic Health Record systems (EHR)
- Experience accomplishing work through others and inspiring others through times of ambiguity
