Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support capability and solution definition for current and future space systems through various system readiness milestones.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Engineering Working Groups that will review and assess the maturity of engineering Artifacts, CONOPS, Interfaces, and Architecture products.
- Support space, ground, and enterprise teams developing architecture and requirement baselines for Indications and Warning (I&W) system of systems, establishing and assessing mission capabilities, assessing system and segment schedule, vulnerabilities, and risks, and supporting test and verification strategy.
- Assist in the creation of quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
- Ensure requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
- Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
- Participate in the usage of MBSE in both customer and company domains by applying the principles of MBSE to major system acquisitions in the Resiliency I&W domain.
- Assess engineering artifacts and develop models of mission systems using a MBSE tool suite.
- Facilitate and/or participate in collaborative meetings between the Resiliency I&W space system subject matter experts (SMEs) and MBSE and SysML experts to identify and implement modeling solutions.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field with 2 - 4 years of experience, MS with 0 - 2 years of experience, PhD with 0 - 2 years of experience, or 8 - 10 years of experience with a high school diploma.
- Demonstrated experience relating to Systems Engineering area(s) including but not limited to: Requirements Engineering, Systems Integration, Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO).
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems to further organizational goals.
- Commitment to understand, recognize, respect, and operate effectively within various SETA, Federally Funded Research and Development (FFRDC), and Governmental lines of authority.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to lead/support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to support the customer's needs, clearly communicate ideas, and work autonomously after Lead guidance.
Desired:
- Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to accommodate End to End Systems Engineering.
- Experience identifying user needs and gaps, identifying potential solutions, and assessing/analyzing alternatives.
- Experience with industry MBSE tools and modeling methodologies to successfully produce systems engineering models.
- Experience using Confluence and Jira tools.
- Experience with Agile Development, SAFE Agile system development methods.
- Experience with space and supporting ground and communications systems, sensor payloads, mission operations, or threat and vulnerability assessment
- Knowledge and practical application of UML / SysML modeling languages and experience applying this common structure to an MBSE solution.
- Understand how system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities are enabled by MBSE across the digital thread (the engineering lifecycle). Foundational to MBSE are tools, technologies, and methodologies that can collectively be called digital engineering.
- OCSMP Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications.
