DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of OR leadership. Responsible for set up, maintenance, and cleaning operating room equipment; delivers and retrieves equipment, assuring equipment is available and in good condition at all times; maintains appropriate supply inventory for items such as OR solutions, personal protective equipment, and gas tanks for surgical procedures.

Supports Clinical workflow through pick-up and transport of conscious, semi-conscious, and/or unconscious patients between treatment areas and nursing units via wheelchair, gurney, or bed. Lifting, positioning, and transferring patients requiring moderate to total assistance. Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1 year of hospital inpatient experience
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date
  • Effective written and oral communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and able to push/ pull a gurney or bed with patients weighing up to 300 pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in an acute care equipment management environment
  • Operating room setting experience.
  • Experience as an OR Assistant
  • High School/GED
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours including Night Shifts and locations based on business needs.
  • Must be willing to work overtime weekends, holidays, and take CALL as needed to meet the business needs of the department.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,990 - $60,990 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $29.21 - $29.21

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
