We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Project Specialist II on our Professional Satisfaction/Practice Sustainability (PS2) team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office. This position is responsible for the development and execution of projects/ initiatives focused on improving the quality, usability, and adoption of clinical technology, including electronic health records (EHRs), digital health solutions, and AI. Collaborate and align with other AMA units, partners, and vendors to ensure implementation of project. Conducts qualitative and quantitative research, assessments, evaluations, and analysis activities to support AMA-led digital health initiatives that aim to further expand the knowledge base available in digital health and achieve the AMA enterprise goal of making technology an asset and not a burden to physicians. RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Management
- Manage multiple digital health projects and their interdependencies simultaneously, this includes but is not limited to, operational support, development of communications, internal processes (IRB application, contracting, invoicing, budget, etc.), scheduling stakeholder interviews, and documentation/project close-out activities.
- Define project scopes in conjunction with stakeholders and leadership, determine objectives and metrics upon which projects will be evaluated and align outcomes with business goals.
- Develop plans, timelines, tasks and resource requirements, monitor and control progress, identify, quantify, escalate and resolve issues and risks, ensuring deliverables are on-time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
- Create and maintain project documentation and participate and collaborate with strategic sourcing, budgeting, contract initiation, and cross-project resource sharing.
- Support collaboration, communication, and coordination across PS2, AMA Business Units, as well as with external partners.
- Collaborate and build internal and external partnerships.
Research, Assessment, Evaluation, and Analysis Activities
- Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, and other preliminary research, as needed, to support the initiation phase of digital health research initiatives.
- Support the planning and development of research activities by contributing knowledge and expertise on research methodologies and data collection methods to effectively achieve project goals and objectives.
- Support the design and development of data collection tools, such as surveys, questionnaires, and discussion guides. Conduct testing of tools to ensure usability and functionality.
- Adhere to a high standard of research ethics and quality.
Reports and Publications
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data collected and communicate findings in high-quality written summaries and/or visual reports. Present findings to leadership, internal collaborators, and external stakeholders, as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for various audiences, including tables, charts, and other graphical representations.
- Maintain proper storage, preservation, and security of digital health data.
- Assist in the planning, development, publication, and promotion of findings.
May include other responsibilities as assigned REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, or health care policy is required. Master's, preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years professional experience in project management, planning and execution or equivalent skills. Market research and writing experience a plus.
- Demonstrated healthcare experience required.
- Experience of business or healthcare research experience in an academic, government, corporate or non- profit setting and knowledge of digital health preferred.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills are required. Knowledgeable of data collection methods and strong ability to develop data collection tools that will achieve research objectives.
- Experience with collecting, organizing, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting qualitative and quantitative data required.
- Strong critical thinking, writing, and tracking/documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, including the ability to balance work on multiple short-term projects requiring rapid responses with work on long term projects.
- Must work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Highest ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of the work product and the resulting value of market research to the organization.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a sustained ability to maintain a positive individual contribution.
This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $72,706 - $96,390. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
