Job Description

The University Innovation Alliance (UIA) Fellows Program is a dynamic leadership development initiative aimed at enhancing student success innovation across UIA member institutions. This program not only strengthens institutional capacity but also equips fellows with the skills and experience needed for future leadership roles in higher education.

UIA Fellows act as student success innovators, collaborating with campus leadership, faculty, and staff to implement and scale student success initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in higher education management, institutional transformation, and collaborative problem-solving. The fellowship is additional work designed to complement your existing role at CU Denver.

University Innovation Alliance (UIA) Fellow:

What you will do:

  • Engagement with UIA Network: Work alongside UIA Liaisons to participate in bi-weekly UIA Fellows meetings, professional development activities, and national retreats and convenings. Training will cover process mapping, design thinking, and facilitation, with periodic travel required.
  • Collaboration on Student Success Initiatives: Partner with CU Denver colleagues on large-scale success initiatives linked to the UIA, including projects such as predictive analytics, proactive advising, strategic financial interventions, college-to-career programs, and university-driven efforts related to academic/career advising, student belonging, and academic support programs.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with both institutional priorities and UIA goals. This includes setting timelines, allocating resources, tracking progress, and mitigating risks, while fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Communication and Reporting: Effectively share insights and progress with both campus leadership and the broader UIA community.
  • National Engagement: Collaborate with the national UIA network to exchange best practices, test innovative approaches, and contribute to discussions about advancing innovation in higher education.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and communicate progress to CU Denver's UIA liaisons.

The fellow may also be asked to support the following:

  • Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis, research, and assessment to inform and refine our work.
  • Policy and Program Development: Contribute to policy research, assessment, memo and proposal writing, and program enrichment analysis as needed.

This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to drive impactful student success initiatives while building leadership skills and expanding your professional network. We look forward to your contributions to both CU Denver and the UIA community.
