Job Description

Contribute to programs and educational events offered through the University of Missouri Center for Regenerative Agriculture (www.cra.missouri.edu). This includes a new $25 million USDA-NRCS climate-smart project and a new $10 million USDA-NIFA cover crop variety development project, both five-year projects. Collaborate with Center staff on a variety of other grant activities of the Center. Also provide support with the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program, assisting SARE regional and state programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate scheduling and support for training workshops and other Center for Regenerative Agriculture educational events, including reserving meeting space, arranging meals/refreshments, assisting speakers with travel, preparing educational packets and managing registration.
  • Provide staffing for events, including representing the Center at selected workshops, field days, and conferences, and help arrange participation of other staff and interns for programs and exhibits.
  • Assist with compiling information for the Center website and sending out regenerative agriculture information to farmers and others contacting the center.
  • Help Center staff with travel arrangements to conferences and meetings.
  • Assist the Center Director and Assistant Director with grant budgets and expenses, including ordering materials and supplies.
  • Monitor grant reporting deadlines and assist with compiling information for grant applications and reporting.
  • Provide support on special tasks associated with the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program, including grant activities and events.
  • Communicate about the Center for Regenerative Agriculture and it's programs with individuals contacting the center.
  • As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri.
Shift

Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - with some flexibility.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates will be evaluated on: Strong organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to organize events and schedule people and activities. Effective interpersonal communication skills, especially one-one-one communications with clients and organization partners. Ability to collaborate effectively and work smoothly in a team-fashion with other staff and partners. Timely and responsive approach to addressing evolving grant needs and client information requests. Interest in regenerative agriculture and desire to help support farmers and improve food systems.

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $21.71 - $28.00/hour.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
