Accounting Writing and Communications Consultant position Position: Part-time writing consultant (PCE1) in the Department of Accounting responsible for grading course assignments designed to assess and improve student written improve written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including data visualization. Workload is approximately 10-15 hours per week; however, the pace of work is based on curricula needs. Appointment begins August 15, 2025, and ends on May 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension to future semesters. No prior knowledge of accounting is required. Required Qualifications: * Master's degree or above in English, Communication Studies, or a related field OR comparable experience * Reasonable experience (at least 1 year) evaluating student work OR tutoring students in written communication * Fluency of English at the level of a native speaker * Expert written and oral communication skills * Evidence of ability to work with students, faculty, and administration in a positive, encouraging manner Desirable Qualifications * Experience with business or technical writing * Experience with accounting or finance in a professional setting Duties and Expectations: Assess and provide feedback in a timely manner for student-submitted work in various undergraduate accounting courses. Hold weekly office hours to meet with students and discuss writing skills (including thesis development, grammar, organization, and clarity) and/or presentation/data visualization skills. Collaborate with the Assistant Director of the Accounting Writing and Communications Program to assess student work. Applicants must provide a resume or CV, cover letter, and 2 references.
