What is your impact?
The Program Director is accountable to lead one or more teams in achieving targeted outcomes/results and capabilities for key strategic initiatives in support of health plan administration. This position is accountable for implementing sustainable and scalable programs and/or capabilities to ensure best in class practices with the intent of operational excellence while upholding compliance regulations. The Program Director will work closely with the Executive Team to develop strategic plans and implement operational improvements to deliver superior service. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage people, projects, systems, and processes in a fast-paced, dynamic and client-focused environment.

What you will be doing:



  • Program Management, Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    -Shape and implement business strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring the development of processes that drive operational excellence and long-term success.
    -Lead and manage a portfolio of complex programs and projects, ensuring cross-functional coordination across departments (Operations, Product, Legal, IT, Compliance), while assessing financial, business, and industry impacts.
    -Build and implement scalable, sustainable programs that meet industry best practices and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and client-specific compliance standards.
    -Direct large-scale initiatives with full budget responsibility, optimizing resource allocation, tracking ROI, and ensuring the successful delivery of measurable outcomes.
    -Present key metrics, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership, driving informed decision-making and supporting major business transformation efforts.
  • Strategy, Integration and Execution:
    -Oversee multiple projects and lead teams to achieve strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with network development, management, and operational goals.
    -Recruit, train, motivate, and manage team performance, fostering a high-performing workforce that meets or exceeds operational and human resource goals.
    -Implement and maintain high standards for productivity, quality, and customer service by resolving issues, conducting audits, identifying trends, and driving process improvements.
    -Manage budgets, control expenditures, analyze variances, and ensure financial targets are met by initiating corrective actions when necessary.
    -Facilitate collaboration across departments, leading multi-functional teams in the tactical and strategic execution of operational plans while influencing decision-making at both the division and unit levels.
  • Leadership Support:
    -Act as the primary escalation point for high-profile ASO clients, ensuring swift resolution of concerns and delivery of exceptional service. Build and nurture long-term client relationships by understanding and adapting to their evolving needs.
    -Oversee the seamless onboarding of new clients, including transition planning, process setup, and ongoing operational support to ensure a positive and efficient client experience.
    -Deliver regular updates to the Executive Team on operational performance, resource allocation, and cost management, providing insights and recommendations to drive strategic decisions.
    -Provide leadership and mentorship to team managers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to meet their objectives and exceed client expectations.
    -Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance client experience, and optimize resource use. Ensure program performance aligns with contract terms and develop renewal strategies to maintain a competitive edge.


Qualifications



  • 6+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in leadership roles within third-party administration (TPA), healthcare, or employee benefits industries, specifically managing ASO clients.
  • 3+ years direct supervisory/management experience
    Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and drive performance across multiple teams.
  • Strong client relationship management capabilities, with a focus on proactive problem-solving and client satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and executive leadership.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, monitor KPIs, and drive operational improvements.
  • Experience with process optimization, project management, and change management methodologies.
