Job Summary

Provide professional support for the safe acquisition, use and storage of radioactive materials and related equipment and protection of campus personnel from radiation hazards consistent with applicable federal and state regulations and Institute policy. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: personnel in Office of Radiological Safety, Environmental Health & Safety. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Test and monitor radiation exposure detection equipment and devises.

Job Duty 2 -
Maintain and upgrade computer systems related to environmental health and safety and health physics.

Job Duty 3 -
Monitor and assist in hazardous waste management processes.

Job Duty 4 -
Prepare and present safety related reports; maintain testing supplies.

Job Duty 5 -
Conduct surveys of x-ray equipment as regards radiation safety.

Job Duty 6 -
Respond as directed to radiation-related emergencies.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Health Physics, Radiological Health, Nuclear/Radiological Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel requhysicisted for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours degree in similar (due to client shift schedules, project requhysicistements).

Required Experience
One to three years of job related experience

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in related field

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of radiation safety regulations and guidelines to include HAZMAT, DOT Shipping, and IATA Shipping. In-depth knowledge of computer systems associated with radiation safety is required as is radiation monitoring equipment operation. Position requires excellent verbal, written, presentation, and customer services skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.

Salary Range: $59,795.00 - $81,324.00

Salary will commensurate with experience and education
