Central Pet Distribution is hiring Warehouse Associates! Day shift Monday through Friday

Do you love pets and love working in a fast-paced environment? Our growing company is seeking experienced warehouse associates to pull merchandise to complete orders from pick tickets, and load/unload trucks with pet supply products to be delivered to pet retailers. Our Pet Distribution team works together to supply our customers with the nation's top brands of pet supplies like Nylabone, Kaytee, and Aqueon. Location: Central Pet Distribution Center at 8550 Seward Rd, Ste 100, Fairfield, OH 45011

Shift Details: Day Shift starting at 7:30am until 4:00pm or until finished, 5 day work week Monday through Friday

Compensation: Starting at $17.00/hr

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:

  • Process transactions utilizing RF technology and/or identify items on paper pick ticket according to bin location, part number, and/or description
  • Pick orders that are scheduled to ship that day and package merchandise to ensure safe transport
  • Inspect merchandise to ensure only quality product is used to complete the order
  • Applying bills of lading for outbound shipments
  • Inspect merchandise to ensure only quality product is used to complete the order
  • Accurately review counts of all incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against invoices, orders or other records
  • Receive incoming goods by unloading trucks and shipping containers. Prepare outgoing shipments, as needed.
  • Assist the inventory department in completing cycle counts, as needed.
  • Meet production, quality, and accuracy levels as established by business unit. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Provide training to other associates as needed.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance. Works extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule, as required by operational needs.
  • Flexibility to work in other areas and departments, as needed. Must be able to cross-train in other departmental areas.
  • Maintain a clean workplace to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents. Promote a safe work environment by following facility and company safety guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with manager and co-workers. Ability to comprehend and carry out simple instructions.
  • Operate and be certified in operating an electric pallet jack and/or order picker when picking orders or putting product away.
  • Operate and be certified in operating a standing reach truck/forklift for putting away product, replenishments, and picking orders.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:

  • 1+ year related warehouse experience preferred
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English, carry out oral instructions in English, count and do basic math
  • Forklift experience and RF scanner experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds, safely, with or without accommodation
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is conducted in a warehouse environment with temperature changes depending on the season
  • Working with or near conveyors depending on assignment
