Scope of Position

As a Program Specialist supporting the Healthy Community Center in the Near East Side, your role is vital in assisting the coordination and implementation of programs and services aimed at promoting preventive wellness. You will work closely with the Senior Program Coordinator and other team members to facilitate the development and execution of initiatives focused on food education, sustainability, healthy lifestyles, and chronic disease prevention. Your regular schedule will be Monday through Thursday from 12:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Fridays are off unless otherwise noted for special events or coverage.

Your responsibilities will include providing administrative support for wellness and prevention programming, assisting with facility operations, and engaging with community partners to enhance access and health equity in the community. This may involve tasks such as organizing program logistics, maintaining records, and assisting with outreach efforts. Collaborative efforts extend to community partners, PACT, Wexner Medical Center, and the University.

Position Summary

* Collaborate on developing preventive wellness programs for community groups, focusing on measurable outcomes.

* Manage day-to-day facility operations, including coordination of meeting spaces for efficiency.

* Promote facility awareness and community utilization through strategic marketing plans.

* Integrate Medical Center systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

* Ensure compliance for facility usage, working closely with the Director.

* Participate in community engagement sessions to gather feedback and contribute to program design

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in community engagement, managing community centers, volunteer management, community programming, event planning, and/or understanding of diverse abilities is strongly preferred. Key attributes for success encompass the ability in cultivating and sustaining relationships within the community. Demonstrated proficiency in community and civic engagement is essential for this position.
