Position Overview
The Principal, Knowledge Management (KM) will serve as the primary technical expert in knowledge and data management within the JCTE-OG. This role will be responsible to execute the business agenda, manage complex data projects and oversee data and system management for the planning and execution across all organizational verticals with a strong team-first and customer focus. Maintaining strong connections with IT is crucial to this role. A team-first, customer-centric, and adaptable approach is essential in this role to manage multiple priorities and respond to customer requests promptly and respectfully. Additionally, exploring innovative technologies, such as AI, is important for continuous improvement. The Principal, KM should be proactive in this area. Position location is in Annapolis Junction and Hanover, MD. This is a full time and on-site role.
Responsibilities
Recognized technical expert, managing all aspects of the JIRA and Confluence systems including planned and unplanned system enhancements.
- Lead development and documentation of information infrastructure, taxonomy, metadata, data, and knowledge standards in line with CESI and JCTE-OG business needs.
- Proactively manage and execute multiple complex cross-functional data projects, with guidance from PMO and gov't customer to deliver against timeline while addressing business, IT, and budget constraints.
- Actively pursue and evaluate cutting edge data science.
- Design, plan, and implement best practices concerning data management
- Provide assistance with business development, recruiting, proposals, and other senior level tasks as required.
- Actively support resolution of escalated systems issues, providing communications on systems and IT issues when appropriate.
- Align with PMO, vertical leads, stakeholders, project initiatives, planning and execution, business goals and Operations Group (OG) objectives.
- Build and maintain a strong external network of peers in KM and other technical areas.
- Create strong liaisons within the OG, CESI, USCC, FVEY partners, and other cyber service components, on local and global levels.
Required Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a computer or data science/IT/Knowledge management or similar field required. Master's degree preferred.
- Substitute for a degree is a Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in computer or data science/IT/Knowledge management or related field.
- 3+ years of management or technical supervision desired but not required.
- Exceptional willingness and propensity for collaboration, relationship & team building.
- Proactively anticipate and business requirements and issues by having a strong pulse on the documentation, synchronization and embolden AGILE across the organization
- Strong project management skills with ability to proactively prioritize and coordinate complex projects.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong ability to translate business needs into IT execution.
- Exceptional knowledge of computer applications (SAP, Optiva, SQL server, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, MS Project, Visio, etc.)
- The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility in their work schedule, including the ability to work different shifts and weekends.
- 1+ years of experience using Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to obtain an IAT Level 2 or Level 3 certification within 6 months of hire date and maintain that certification while employed on the program.
- Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) or similar certification is preferred.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
- Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status and a TS/SCI security clearance and will require to undergo a CI polygraph if selected. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.

Salary Range
Based on the roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $145,000 - $185,000. The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, CESI also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions.
