Job Summary: The Family Medicine physician directs or provides licensed medical care in the specialty area of family medicine. Responsibilities include diagnosis and treatment of patients, education and collaboration with staff, medical students, residents and others, and clinical research. The Family Medicine physician must be competent in technical clinical skills as well as cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving the above mentioned services. The Family Medicine physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physicians standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center. Required Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Internal Medicine required; active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required. Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine and a fellowship training program in family medicine required. |
