JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: ENGINEERING DIRECTOR

REPORTS TO: President/Site-Leader

LOCATION: Chatsworth, CA

SHIFT: Monday thru Thursday (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

The Engineering Director will lead all engineering and technical activities within the business, providing oversight for a team of 10-15 engineers. This role is responsible for driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting product development and sustainment efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aerospace antenna solutions and RF technology, with expertise in UHF, VHF, L-band, TACS, GPS, and Radar Altimeters antenna solutions.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:




  • Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of technical rigor and collaboration.
  • Oversee the development, qualification, and certification of aerospace antenna systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight for RF system design, antenna integration, and performance optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, product reliability, and manufacturing support.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with program management, business development, and operations to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Support customer engagements, proposals, and technical presentations as the subject matter expert.
  • Manage engineering resources, budgets, and project timelines to meet strategic goals.



Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)




  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in RF engineering and aerospace antenna design.
  • Deep knowledge of antenna design principles, RF propagation, and system integration.
  • Experience with certification requirements for airborne RF systems (FAA, DO-160, RTCA, MIL-STD, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Previous leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with avionics integration and aircraft installation constraints.
  • Experience working with defense and commercial aerospace customers.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Project is essential.



Physical Demands / Work Environment:




  • Position located in an office environment, with exposure to the manufacturing floor when needed.
  • Domestic business related travel, valid driver's license required.
  • International business related travel, valid US passport required.
  • Regularly required to walk up and down stairs.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
