Overview

Performs routine to highly complex revenue accounting activities, analyzes financial data, and prepares related financial reports. Ensures compliance with Bancroft policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Continuously identifies and facilitates process improvements.



Responsibilities

    Independently reviews, monitors and analyzes Revenue Cycle-related activity, including billing, collections, write-offs, etc., and prepares monthly revenue reports for Accounting team to record revenue, cash collections and receivables and other revenue-related transactions.
  • Prepares monthly pre-close Revenue report analyzing expected revenue versus recorded revenue in the EHR system. Researches variances, in coordination with Revenue Cycle team, and recommends adjustments as needed.
  • Prepares monthly Rate and Volume variance reports by sub-service line, comparing budgeted rates and census to actuals. Coordinates with Accountants and Service Line leaders to determine causes of variances. Proposes adjustments as needed.
  • Serves as primary liaison between Accountants and Revenue Cycle, including, but not limited to: questions of census, revenue, cash collections and posting, receivables, etc.
  • Performs other related revenue accounting responsibilities, as required
  • Interacts with external auditors as well as internal Finance staff and providers related to revenue data, as required.
  • Performs other duties and special assignments, as required. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments, based on organizational and departmental needs.
  • Upon request, willingly cooperates with senior management, or any federal, state or local agency or licensing authority, in connection with ongoing inspections and investigations.
  • Remains current with required training certifications, meets state-regulated licensing and regulatory accreditations, and adheres to mandatory requirements.
  • Abides by the Bancroft Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement in promoting ethical behavior, establishing relationships and providing guidance in decision-making situations.
  • Maintains effective verbal and written communications with colleagues, those served, and their family members and/or guardians when applicable.
  • Maintains a safe and respectful environment, free of abuse, neglect or exploitation; does not allow weapons, threats, bullying or intimidation.
  • Reports any violations to the appropriate individual as soon as an incident occurs.

Qualifications

BS in Accounting required with a minimum of five years of experience in the accounting field, two of which are in internal auditing or with a public accounting firm. CPA preferred.

Special Skills:

A solid knowledge base of accounting issues, financial recordkeeping procedures, laws, regulations and standards, particularly as they relate to healthcare enterprises required. Ability to implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with various accounting regulations, knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures, and knowledge of current changes and/or developments in applicable federal, state and local laws required. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, presentation, project management and organizational skills required
