Education and Work Experience:



  1. A minimum of two years of fundraising or events management experience.
  2. Bachelor or higher diploma or equivalent required.
  3. Minimum two years related experience in events and volunteer coordination.


Scope of Position:

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for creating, enhancing and expanding fundraiser and awareness events within Ada County and volunteer initiatives across the Boise Corps operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:



  1. Understanding of the history, mission and ministry of The Salvation Army internationally and locally.
  2. Expert knowledge and computer skills to include Microsoft based application and database software.
  3. Experience in Adobe photoshop, Adobe illustrator as well as social media and web software and Canva.
  4. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and able to draft and edit communication and correspondence.
  5. Detail orientated, accurate and precise.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Energetic, personable and dependable.
  8. Capable of handling and controlling multiple projects.
  9. Work well with many people from diverse backgrounds.
  10. Must be able to receive instructions and be able to manage change.
  11. Capable of maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  12. Ability to conduct oneself in a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or difficult situation.
  13. Ability to maintain good rapport and communication with other staff members and Corps Officers.
  14. Able to work irregular hours, holidays, and respond to crisis or deadline on short notice.
  15. Valid Idaho Driver's License, pass Salvation Anny Drivers Test, and have reliable transportation.
  16. Team player - works to ensure team, as well as department, goals are met or exceeded.








              Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



              1. Manage all current fundraising events and take the lead role in new event development and Management.
              2. Produces and coordinates fundraising events: advertising, logistics, leading event committees, managing event sponsors, creating and maintaining vendor relations, assembling sponsor packets, collecting event RSVPS, soliciting auction items, organizing and managing event check in, registration and check out.
              3. Attend networking events with CO/Development Director and participate in community groups that will expose TSA to beneficial relationships for fundraising.
              4. Work with CO/ Development Director to create and manage a public relations plan for the Boise Corps.
              5. Collaborate with Corps Administrators & Development Director and Program Coordinators.
              6. to Research, brainstorm and generate creative techniques and methods to continually improve upon special events.
              7. Work with Development Director to ensure effective public relations and communication with existing sponsors to keep them abreast of existing and upcoming events.
              8. Works with the Development Director to design elements and event promotion.
              9. Effectively market special events in collaboration with development team and corps administrator.
              10. Work with CA to keep advisory board abreast of existing and upcoming events for monthly meetings and recruitment.
              11. Work with CA to promote and plan annual/lunch, award and holiday events.
              12. Recruit and manage special event committee members and event volunteers; Thanksgiving, Kettles and Toy N Joy.











                                Volunteer and Gym Coordinator-



                                1. Recruit volunteers, working with other department heads when needed, on an ongoing basis as well as for events/programs/projects.
                                2. Maintains the volunteer database, input of information, updates, communications with volunteers.
                                3. Works with social, civic, schools, churches and local organizations to develop partnerships to increase volunteerism.
                                4. Develops and implements volunteer position descriptions and training programs for all volunteer assignments. Greet volunteers and provide orientation (create and update SOP for volunteer orientation).
                                5. Maintains accurate records and provides timely statistical data activity reports on volunteer participation.
                                6. Assesses the volunteer experience to ensure volunteer retention.
                                7. Employs a system to recognize volunteer service.
                                8. Surveys staff regularly to assess the needs for volunteer assistance.
                                9. Writes and disseminates a monthly volunteer newsletter for Boise corps.
                                10. On-going Volunteers: Responsible to recruit, train and check-in on regular on-going volunteers. Work with the program supervisor to determine if regular volunteers needs assistance, further training.
                                11. Special Event Volunteers: Responsible to recruit, train, provide supplies for and provide adequate supervision and be available for special event volunteer projects. May need to work with supervisors or other staff to supervise special event volunteer projects due to time constraints or technical training. Work with program coordinators to schedule these projects.
                                12. Oversees all aspects of the volunteers for the Annual Christmas Kettle campaign. Recruit new volunteers that are individuals, families and coordinate company ring days. Work closely with the Kettle Coordinator and the employment agency to set up volunteer locations, and time slots.
                                13. Manage the Gym rentals and set up a payment system for the groups renting gym.










                                                Physical Requirements:

                                                Requires the ability to frequently lift, move, or carry materials up to 40 pounds.

                                                Continual sitting at a desk using a personal computer and telephone.

                                                Working Conditions:

                                                Requires daily involvement in personal and professionally sensitive matters which require maintaining absolute confidentiality.

                                                Works in an office environment with frequent interruptions, multiple deadlines, and competing Priorities.

                                                May require working a flexible schedule including some Saturdays and evenings.

                                                MISCELLANEOUS:

                                                The Salvation Army does have a dress code. This will be shared with you at the time of employment.
