Starting Salary: $103,176.00/Year

At the guidance of the Commissioner of Chicago Department of Public Health, ensure strategic operations and health functions of the public health clinics align with regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Develops and implement frameworks to promote both patient and provider safety and improve delivery of care

* Provides expertise on clinical quality improvement to the Sexual Health, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children), Mental Health, and Immunization city-run clinics and recommend improvements to standard operating procedures

* Oversees staff who assist in coordinating quality improvement and safety performance initiatives to optimize clinical services

* Conducts risk assessments of clinical duties (job hazards/safety analysis) and technical assistance to ensure clinical programs meet departmental goals, incorporating relevant OSHA standards and requirements, best practices, and regulatory standards and procedures

* Provides technical expertise in understanding safety regulations and coordinates with management to prepare standard operating procedures and train clinical personnel accordingly

* Develops and implements policies and procedures that safeguard confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic health records for recipients of CDPH clinical services

* Recommends strategies and new safety initiatives to improve clinical performance and processes, and increase safety awareness

* Provides leadership role in investigating serious safety breaches in the clinical operations space and advises the Commissioner on appropriate solutions

* Prepares management reports assessing effectiveness of patient privacy procedures and clinical safety initiatives

* Other duties as assigned

Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, plus five years of work experience in safety or operations management

Graduation from an accredited college and university with a Master's degree in a healthcare-related field, plus four (4) years of work experience in safety or operations management

Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications

Valid State of Illinois Driver' s License is required
