Description

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5pm. Hours will vary as needed. No weekends or holidays. Located at The Shiley Pavilion in La Jolla.

What you'll do:



  • Front and back office duties
  • Perform patient intakes
  • Rooming patients
  • Assisting with EKGs, apply cardiac monitors
  • Completing clerical duties including insurance authorizations, inbasket for lab follow ups, taking supply inventory and managing medication authorization approvals
  • Float to other sites within the specialty depending upon department needs
  • You will primarily support our Cardiology providers but will also support Pain Management, Acupuncture, Biofeedback, and Dieticians as needed.


Additional Job Details:

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who has the ability to adapt and work well with multiple specialties and Providers. You'll have an opportunity to assist with specialty procedures along with other primary functions as a Medical Assistant such as rooming patients and taking vitals. Additionally, you'll support the department with ordering specialty tests and will follow up with patients regarding results and video appointment scheduling.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of two years of experience as a Military Corpsman or Medical Assistant Certification
  • BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • One year of previous MA experience in the given department
  • EKG experience
