Division Superintendent Gulf Division

Primary Purpose:

This position oversees the safe and efficient management of train movements, engineering activities, and data reporting functions across the entire network. It ensures that terminals and territories operate with a high degree of efficiency, in line with the operating plan, while addressing disruptions and exceptions to minimize operational impact. The employee will collaborate closely with Network Operations Center (NOC) Dispatch personnel and coordinate with Transportation terminals and territories.

Principal Duties:

• Supervises the daily execution of the operating plan to ensure on-time train operations, efficient locomotive usage, and effective customer service across the network.
• Coordinates with terminals and territories to maintain reliable, resilient, and efficient operations across the network.
• Communicates and coordinates exception plans with various departments, including Engineering, Mechanical, NPO, NOC, Transportation, as well as senior leadership.
• Requires and utilizes knowledge of various operational systems and applications used throughout the organization, along with an understanding of labor agreements.
• Assists in maximizing locomotive and rolling stock utilization by coordinating activities between Terminals, Line of Road operations, Customer Logistics, and the NOC.
• Helps coordinate and optimize Engineering track time, including managing outages and rerouting freight when necessary.
• Monitors train operations and tonnage accumulation, adjusting plans for extra trains, annulments, or consolidations to ensure efficient customer service.
• Maintains accurate, real-time information on the network's operational status for senior management.
• Oversees timely notifications to senior management and appropriate federal agencies in the event of accidents, derailments, or emergencies.
