Overview

Waters Corporation is currently looking to hire a Production Machinist to join our organization within our Global Machining Operations.

Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Centerless Grinder Operator to join our 2nd shift team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Tschudin and Royal Master centerless grinding machines to produce precision components that meet tight tolerances and quality standards.


Responsibilities

    Set up and operate Tschudin and Royal Master centerless grinding machines (through-feed and/or in-feed).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Maintain strict adherence to dimensional and surface finish requirements.
  • Perform routine machine adjustments, wheel changes, and dressing operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to machine operation or part quality.
  • Accurately document inspection results and production data.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Communicate quality or equipment concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating centerless grinding machines (Tschudin, Royal Master, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Basic understanding of machine setup, tooling, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills (a plus):
  • Experience with CNC/NC centerless grinders.
  • Knowledge of various metals and surface finishes.
  • Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
