Solvita recovers, processes, and distributes human tissue grafts and is the nation's largest non-profit provider of skin grafts for burn patients. Primary Purpose:
Oversees daily departmental operations and ensures all processes follow established procedures. Upholds the organization's mission to honor The Gift by maximizing opportunities to produce high-quality grafts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leads and reinforces a culture of safety and promotes proactive safety practices for all employees
- Ensures quality in all aspects of tissue graft production, including product integrity, documentation, procedures, and service
- Fosters a strong leadership presence by engaging team members and building a collaborative work environment
- Cultivates interdepartmental collaboration to support the execution and maintenance of project plans for new and existing grafts
- Utilizes data-driven decision-making to align departmental efforts with strategic goals
- Responsible for hiring, training, motivating, orienting, supervising, evaluating, developing, and counseling staff
- Oversees departmental initiatives in alignment with strategic goals, including budget oversight and staff development
- Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in Tissue Banking, Healthcare, or a related field
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
- On-call availability required as needed
- Some manufacturing areas may require working around high magnetic circuits or magnetic fields
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree preferred
- Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) certification
- Experience in manufacturing, tissue processing, or medical devices
- Proven experience in process analysis and continuous improvement
- Strong leadership and motivational skills with a track record of high-performance team development
- Experience leading major projects and building team cohesion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of anatomy, sterile technique, medical terminology, and allograft tissue operations
