JOB OVERVIEW:

The Quality Inspector 2, with limited supervision, engages in the execution of quality and food safety tasks to ensure that it meets regulatory, Blue Diamond Growers, and Customer quality standards. As a quality inspector, you are an essential component in the Delivery of Quality Every Day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine sampling of ingredients, in-process items, and finished products for laboratory analysis to check for consistency, quality, and safety parameters.
  • Conduct sanitation verification, sanitation, swabbing food contact surfaces and environmental.
  • Verify the calibration of food safety testing instruments (Qcify, Mettler Toldeo Moisture Analyzer, Mettler scales) ensuring that equipment is functioning correctly and within specifications.
  • Assist in internal and external food safety audits and inspections, ensuring all processes, products, and documentation comply with regulatory standards. Implement corrective actions when needed based on audit findings.
  • Maintain and update all quality assurance documentation, including batch records, testing results, and inspection logs, ensuring they comply with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Executes environmental monitoring (Neogen ATPs & Sponge swabs), responsible for verifying sanitation.
  • Works collaboratively with various operations stakeholders to execute standards throughout shift work, teaching them about quality and food safety standards.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED

*Minimum qualifications

  • 4+ years quality control experience.
  • H.S./GED or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of food processing and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP)
  • Ability to work under limited supervision. Receives guidelines from supervisor but is expected to determine appropriate action when handling all but the most unusual tasks.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts (day/swing and sometimes swing/grave.)
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. alone or 50 lbs. with assistance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.
