Job Summary

Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the building and grounds. This role works independently and/or assist other workers on all or special tasks. This position will work on PC's main campus.

Essential Functions

40% General Maintenance and Repairs
Performs a variety of maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, basic electrical work, welding, carpentry, and hardware repairs. Installs and repairs doors, fixtures, locksets, and equipment. Uses tools and materials safely and keeps equipment in working order.

30% Building Systems Support
Monitors and troubleshoots building systems, including plumbing, electrical, energy management systems, and life safety. Responds to work orders, resolves system issues, and ensures compliance with safety codes and regulations.

20% Preventive and Coordinated Maintenance
Completes preventive maintenance on building systems. Assists in larger projects and coordinates work with outside vendors when necessary. Keeps records of work completed and uses maintenance software tools.

10% Other Duties
Follows safety procedures and campus policies. Handles additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, and three (3) years of specialized building maintenance and/or repair experience related to area of assignment.

There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working in a commercial facilities environment performing diagnosis and repair of building systems, including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical,
  • HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
  • Experience with a computerized work order system.
  • OSHA 30 Card or equivalent safety-related training.


Special Working Conditions
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visa.
  • Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License (License is required to operate College carts and vehicles).
  • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense
  • May require numerous evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
  • Climbing stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas, along with working at heights.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions.
  • Will be required to work in an area of light to heavy noise levels daily.

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
